TABLE REBUILD FOR A FRIEND
A couple of years ago, I was out in the workshop, and a fellow came up and asked me if I did outside work. I asked him what he had in mind, and he told me he had broken his favorite TV tray and wanted to know if I could repair it. He offered to pay me for the repair. I explained something my father told me when I asked him if he would ever sell his creations. He said, "Son, the minute you charge for it, it becomes a job." I never forgot that. I don't need a job. I had one, then I retired. I told Wallace, (by then we had introduced ourselves) that I would be happy to fix his table as a favor only. He agreed and went home to get the table. Here is what he brought me. I knew I would have to trim the broken edges and reglue the top. Not a hard job. But he would have to find a replacement LOGO. Imagine, a GATOR helping a SEMINOLE!
